How do we build
our models?

The first step involves gathering detailed reference material and specifications for the model. Measurements, technical drawings, and photographs of the real-world vehicle are collected to make sure the model is a representation that is accurate and properly scaled.

The information is then used to create precise designs and technical layouts of the model. Everything from the chassis down to the smallest detail is modelled to prepare for production.

An initial physical sample is created using prototype tooling, which is an early version that allows our team to check the proportions, shape, and basic details of the model before moving into production.

The tooling sample is thoroughly reviewed by our production team. Any inaccuracies, improvements that are needed, or details that are missed, are identified and adjustments are made to refine the accuracy of the model.

After our review, full production tooling is created. These are the high-precision moulds that will be used to cast the parts in metal – forming the basis of the final model.

A metal sample is produced using the final tooling and proper materials. This is closer to the finished product, allowing for a final check of the finish and overall quality.

Once the metal sample is approved, the model officially moves into production. Parts are cast, painted, assembled, and detailed by our team, following strict specifications to guarantee consistent quality.

Before models are packaged and shipped, every batch undergoes an extensive quality control process. Each model is inspected to make sure that it meets our standards for finish, accuracy, and durability.

After our careful design, testing, and production process, each finished Drake Collectibles item is a high-quality model that captures the detail and character of the original vehicle.
